About this study
The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of patients and their family caregivers who use tube feeding in the home setting as part of Mayo Clinic's Home Enteral Nutrition program.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria
- Patients who currently participate in the Home enteral nutrition program
- One family caregiver who accepts nomination to be interviewed and consents to take a picture using a digital camera supplied by the research team
Exclusion Criteria
- Patients and family members whose health status would interfere with informed consent or completion of a photo elicitation interview
- Patients with a diagnosis of dementia or any other cognitive impairment that affects their ability to consent to participation
- Family members who are not involved in patients caregiving
