Salivary Biomarkers of Chronic Pancreatitis

About this study

The purpose of this study is to discover new ways of diagnosing chronic pancreatitis (CP) earlier in the course of the disease by studying molecules found in saliva.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to provide written informed consent
  • No prior pancreatic surgery.
  • Chronic pancreatitis (CP), suspected minimal change chronic pancreatitis (MCCP), or pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) groups: meet study diagnostic criteria
  • Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) group: no prior chemotherapy or radiotherapy for pancreatic cancer.
  • Normal volunteers: no history of pancreatitis, pancreatic tumors or cysts, or chronic abdominal pain
