Overview
Tab Title Description
Study type
ObservationalDescribes the nature of a clinical study. Types include:
- Observational study — observes people and measures outcomes without affecting results.
- Interventional study (clinical trial) — studies new tests, treatments, drugs, surgical procedures or devices.
- Medical records research — uses historical information collected from medical records of large groups of people to study how diseases progress and which treatments and surgeries work best.

About this study
The purpose of this study is to determine if stress cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) imaging will allow us to detect radiation-related cardiac toxicity before other evaluation modalities would allow.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Histological confirmation of malignancy.
- Patient to undergo radiotherapy with cardiac V20 > 2% or mean cardiac dose > 2 Gy.
- Age ≥ 18 years.
- ECOG Performance Status (PS) 0, 1 or 2.
- Negative pregnancy test done ≤7 days prior to registration, for women of childbearing potential only
- Ability to undergo stress cardiac MRI.
- Provide informed written consent.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Medical contraindication to stress cardiac MRI (including contraindication to gadolinium or
- Uncontrolled intercurrent illness including, but not limited to, ongoing or active infection, symptomatic congestive heart failure, unstable angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, or psychiatric illness/social situations that would limit compliance with study requirements.
