Association of RLS/WED and Ferritin Level in Bariatric Surgery Patients

About this study

The purpose of the research study is to find out whether patients with low ferritin levels following bariatric surgery develop bothersome restless leg symptoms.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion criteria:

  • Consented adult patients who plan to undergo bariatric surgery for the treatment of obesity at Mayo Clinic will be included.

Exclusion criteria:

  • Patients who are pregnant
  • Pediatric patients (<18 years of age) 
  • Patients who are unable to provide consent
  • Patients that have significant language barrier (limiting understanding of the questionnaire) will be excluded from the study.
