About this study
To determine if VEGF expression is induced in patients who experienced radiation dermatitis.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Any new patient enrolled in once daily external beam radiation for primary treatment of cancer
Exclusion Criteria
- Radiation in anatomically sensitive area for treatment such as perio-orbital, breast, rectal/perianal, perineal/scrotal, etc
- Currently undergoing chemotherapy in addition to radiation treatment
- Previous irradiation treatment in the same area
- Known collagen-vascular disorder or diabetes
- Currently treated with VEGF-targeting therapeutics
- Currently on anticoagulation therapy
- Previous history of delayed wound healing
- Younger than 18 years old
- Pregnant
- Unable to give consent
- Current or recent use of sirolimus ( < 3 months)
