Left Ventricular Ejection Hemodynamics in Patients with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Valvular Aortic Stenosis

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare ejection hemodynamics in patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) before and after septal myectomy.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Group I:
    • Patients with HCM and dynamic subaortic obstruction
    • >18 years of age
    • Undergoing surgical myectomy via trans-aortic approach
  • Group II:
    • Patients with aortic stenosis
    • >18 years of age
    • Patients undergoing isolated AVR with either mechanical or bioprosthetic valve.

Exclusion Critieria:

  • None
