Computerized Cognitive Test to Screen for Cognitive Changes in Patients with Multiple Myeloma

About this study

The purpose of this study is to measure subtle cognitive changes by using a simple and brief computer-based test (CogState Battery) in patients with Multiple Myeloma treated at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Willingness to undergo cognitive testing and participate in the feasibility study
  • Confirmed diagnosis of multiple myeloma
  • Treatment with chemotherapy medications (e.g. lenalidomide, pomalidomide) after stem cell transplantation
  • Age ≥ 40 years
  • Provide written informed consent

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Unwillingness or inability to undergo cognitive testing
  • Other diagnosed medical conditions that might interfere with cognitive testing (e.g. visual impairment, neuropsychiatric disorders)
