Hydration Status in Surgical Patients

About this study

The goal of the study is to assess the correlation of Leo Technology hydration algorithm to various physiological parameters in the perioperative period for those undergoing colorectal surgery.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • All subjects undergoing elective laparoscopic or open segmental colorectal resections who are eligible for IT
  • Age >18 years
  • BMI <40
  • Ability to understand and read English
  • Plan for subject to undergo enhanced recovery pathway

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Not able or unwilling to sign consent
  • Currently pregnant or lactating
  • Subjects requiring emergent surgery
