About this study
The purpose of this study is to:
- Examine patient's functional status and side effects with opioid treatment
- Examine patient's view on the perceived risk and benefits of opioid treatment
- Examine patient's attitudes toward the provider who is prescribing opioids
- Examine patient's perspective on the efficacy and barriers for non-opioid treatment options.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Patients who have chronic pain and on have been on chronic opioids.
- Chronic opioid treatment is defined as opioid prescription for more than 3 consecutive months.
- Patients who have established primary care at the Rochester-Mayo Clinic Campus.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Patients who did not consent to participate in any research.
