A Study of Bone Metabolism and Fragility Fractures

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess the connection between patients with bone metabolism issues and fragility fractures, identifying risk factors for fragility fractures including vitamin D deficient populations.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Fragility fracture between 2012-2014 (pre bone metabolic clinic) or after initiation of the bone health clinic (2014-2016)
  • Had a DEXA scan performed at one of the medical centers pre or post initiation of the bone health clinic
  • Had a vitamin D level obtained at one of the two medical centers before or after initiation of the bone health clinic
