About this study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of MCP on depression, psychosocial distress, and QOL in veterans with advanced cancer. This study will also evaluate participants’ perception of MCP to better guide future use of the intervention at Mayo Clinic.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Veteran status
- Patient who has relapsed lymphoma, relapsed leukemia, stage III or stage IV solid tumor cancers, or any cancer diagnosis for which treatment is non-curative in its intent.
- Veterans who express interest in participating in the study will schedule a short interview with one of the investigators to determine eligibility based on exclusion criteria including psychosis, severe cognitive impairment, or physical limitations precluding participation in seven 1-hour face-to-face MCP sessions.
- Informed consent will be provided to eligible participants.
