A Study of Shared Decision Making in the Cardiovascular Care of Cancer Patients Seen in the Cardio-oncology Clinic

About this study

The purpose of this study is to explore, through surveys of providers and patients, the frequency and nature of shared decision making aspects in the cardiovascular care of cancer patients seen in the cardio-oncology clinic referred by an oncology provider.

 

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients
    • Adults >18 years
    • Breast cancer clinic appointment
    • Cardio-Oncology clinic appointment
  • Clinicians
    • Clinicians practicing in the Breast cancer and Cardio-Oncology clinic
  • Guests
    • Adults ≥ 18 years

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients
    • Major barriers to providing informed consent (i.e. dementia, severe hearing or visual impairment, severe cognitive impairment)
  • Clinicians
    • None
  • Guests
