Biomechanical Analysis of the Carotid Artery Wall in the Healthy Adult Population

About this study

The purpose of this study is to:

  • Determine if biomechanical properties of the carotid arteries wall can be measured by ultrasound-based novel imaging technology for healthy adult population. 
  • Once validated, the long-term objective would be to use the measurements as control set for future studies.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Participants between the ages 18-40 years old

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Pregnant women
  • Participants with any previous peripheral arterial or carotid disease
  • Participants with any previous peripheral arterial or carotid intervention
  • Any chronic condition, treatment, or medication that would be felt to interfere with the testing or testing results
