About this study
The aim of this study is to evaluate the incidence of infrapatellar branch of the saphenous nerve encounters during the standard medial parapatellar approach to the knee during arthroplasty.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Adults ≥18 years
- Intact presurgical peripheral sensation based on 5.07 monofilament testing
- Undergoing planned total knee arthroplasty surgery
Exclusion Criteria:
- Presurgical neurologic discrepancies (peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy)
- Complex regional pain syndrome
- Peripheral nerve surgery, narcotic dependency
