About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of the BeWell360 coaching care model to improve functional and experience-related outcomes of informal caregivers (CGs) of patients living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) to create a foundational framework for future evaluation and implementation.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

CGs selection and enrollment:

  • Caregivers of identified patients diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment due to ADRD and receiving care at Mayo Clinic Florida (MCF) as part of the HABIT program.
  • Age ≥ 18 years of age.
  • Any sex, race, and ethnicity.
  • Informally or formally caring for a patient living with MCI with an expected survival of at least 1 year based on their medical evaluation as ascertained in the medical records, and discussed and confirmed with the care team members.
  • Participating in neurology and psychology care consultations at MCF.
  • Willing to provide informed consent and complete study sessions, interviews, surveys, and questionnaires.
  • Capable of speaking and understanding the English language proficiently.

Clinicians’ and allied health professionals iselection and enrollment:

  • Age ≥ 18 years of age.
  • Any sex, race, and ethnicity.
  • Providing care to ADRD patients at MCF
  • Willingness to provide informed consent and participate in semi-structured interviews.
  • These clinicians are part of the existing teams within the HABIT program and will be interviewed to solicit their feedback and views about these tested care models (as discussed below). 

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • ≤ 18 years of age.
