About this study

The purpose of this study is to design and build an electronic and/or paper card-based prototype of the ACUMEN decision aid, and to pilot ACUMEN choice during clinical encounters to assess its impact on the quality of healthcare Delivery and care experience.  

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Patient Group Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients aged 18 or above with any diagnosis coming to receive acupuncture in outpatient settings.
  • Patient must be able to understand and provide informed consent and HIPAA authorization.
  • Able to speak and read English.

Clinician Group Inclusion Criteria:

  • Clinicians (physicians and acupuncturists) providing care to eligible patients at any of the Mayo Clinic Enterprise clinical locations.

 Patient Group Exclusion Criteria

  • Inability to provide informed consent or HIPAA authorization.
  • Individuals that decline study participation.
  • Patients under the age of 18 years old.

Clinician Group Exclusion Criteria

Individuals that decline study participation.
