A Study to Measure and Compare Muscle Activity (Electromyographic Activity) of the Hip and Thigh during 2 Versions of the Lunge Exercise

About this study

The purpose of this study is to examine if there is a difference in muscle activity in two different techniques of performing a lunge exercise.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • No current lower extremity pain or pathology which would compromise the ability to perform a forward lunge and demonstrate the ability to perform both lunge exercises of interest.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Current lower extremity pain or pathology that would compromise the ability to perform a squat, or any previous lower extremity surgery or trauma that would compromise performance of the exercises.
