About this study
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of natural light exposure or lack of exposure in the work-space on physician cognitive and physical performance, subjective sleepiness, and mood.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria
- Categorical interns on a “medicine” rotation for the study and on an “elective” for the baseline sample
- Preliminary interns on a “medicine,” “Hematology,” or “Gastroenterology” rotation for the study and on an “elective” for the baseline sample
- PGY-2 residents on a “Pulmonology” and “Gastroerology” rotation for the study and on an “elective” rotation for the baseline sample
- PGY-3 residents on a “medicine” rotation for the study and on an “elective” rotation for the baseline sample
- Hospitalists on a “Medicine 5”-“Medicine 14” service for the study and on a week without hospital responsibilities for the baseline sample
