About this study
Diagnostic and injury quantification measures will show significant differences between non-concussed and concussed athletes to aid in future treatment protocols. Data from accelerometers and video footage will provide additional information to further characterize concussive injuries and support diagnostic and treatment protocols.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Subject population (children, adults, groups):
Rostered athletes on the Junior A ice hockey team, medically cleared to participate during the hockey season at the time of enrollment will be invited to participate.
The age range of potential study participants can be as young as 16 but no older than 21 (USA Hockey Junior A Tier III age limit).
Inclusion Criteria:
Consenting players participating in Junior A ice hockey and medically cleared to participate in the sport of ice hockey at the time of enrollment are eligible to participate in this study.
Exclusion Criteria:
Any players not medically cleared or for other reasons are restricted from hockey participation will be ineligible to participate in this study.
