Patient Specific Functional Scale: Reliability and Validity in Persons with Musculoskeletal Hip Pain

About this study

The purpose of this study is to examine the test-retest reliability of scores obtained with the Patient Specific Functional Scale (PSFS), to concur validity of scores obtained with the PSFS, and the responsiveness  of scores obtained with the PSFS.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Primary complaints of hip pain (defined as pain between the superior pelvic rim and distal end of the femur)
  • Conservative management
  • Participation in at least 2 therapy sessions
  • 18 to 65 years old

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Inability to understand questionnaire
  • Non-English speaking
  • Prior or planed hip surgery in the involved extremity
  • Pregnancy
  • Primary complaint in other body region
