Analysis of Synovial Fluid for Metal Ions

Overview

About this study

This research study is being done to find out if there is any correlation between metal ion levels (cobalt and chromium) in the fluid around your hip, and those that are found in your blood. One factor that may cause failure of a total hip arthroplasty is an elevated level of these ions around the hip.
