About this study
This study aims to analyze the incidence of scapholunate ligament injuries associated with distal radius fractures and to determine the clinical, radiographic, and functional outcomes of treatment versus observation.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Operative management of distal radius fractures between 1980 and present with a minimum of 1 year follow-up. Patient record must contain post-operative and follow-up radiological imaging, adequate clinical information to assess functionality, pain, activities of daily living, range of motion, and satisfaction. Radiographic documentation must be available.
- Patients ≥ 18 years of age
- Patients with distal radius fracture with associated scapholunate ligament injury diagnosed with:
- Wrist arthroscopy
- Plain radiographs with a scapholunate interval ≥ 3mm
Exclusion Criteria:
- Patients < 18 years of age
- Less than 1 year follow-up
- Open fracture
- Previous injury to ipsilateral wrist
- Dementia
