About this study
The purpose of this study is:
- To understand the barriers in incident reporting among medical trainees
- To assess incident reporting frequency by trainees
- To analyze the changes in barriers to incident reporting and the impact of the patient safety video
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria:
Inclusion Criteria:
- Medical Trainees (age >18 years) within Mayo Clinic in Florida, Mayo Clinic Arizona, Mayo Rochester Trainees, including Medicine Trainees, Surgery Trainees, Stratified by the level of training, gender, and age approved by the GMEC. Participant list will be acquired from GMEC.
- Pregnant women may be included in this study as there would be no increased risk to this population in particular. The study team will not have knowledge of pregnancy status during the course of the study.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Does not meet inclusion criteria.
- We are excluding senior graduate trainees as they are already done with their trainees.
- We are excluding first year residents from the survey portion of the study as they are all watching the educational video as part of their orientation (class incoming July of 2019).
