Study to Compare Electrical and Ultrasonographic Evaluation of the Phrenic Nerve-Diaphragm Neuromuscular Junction (NMJ) Function

About this study

The purpose of this study is to ensure technical success in the treatment of assessing diaphragmatic neuromuscular junction (NMJ) function of the diaphragm in normal patients.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Participants aged 18 and older, regardless of gender, ethnicity or background.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Subjects who refuse written consent or enrollment in study.
  • Subjects with underlying pathology:
    • Neuromuscular junction disorders:
      • Myasthenia gravis;
      • Lambert-Eaton;
      • Myasthenic syndrome.
  • Any cardiopulmonary disease.
  • Subjects with currently implanted devices (e.g., pacemaker, implanted defibrillatior, implanted nerve stimulators, vagal stimulators).
  • Pregnancy.
