A Study to Develop Early Detection Test to Reduce Racial Disparities in Endometrial Cancer (EC) Mortality

About this study

The purpose of this study is to reduce disparities in endometrial cancer (EC) mortality among African American women (AAW) by developing an understanding of what may be needed to increase awareness of signs of EC and advance efforts to introduce early detection of EC using a novel tampon based test.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Self-identified WW or AAW ≥ 40 years of age (will record Hispanic ethnicity).
  • Women will be ≥ 40 years of age with a self-reported history of AUB or PMB.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Women < 40 years who do not identify as WW or AAW.
  • Women who are unable to speak and read English.
  • Men.
  • Women outside age range.
  • Women with prior hysterectomy.
  • Women with prior pelvic radiation.
  • Women who are unwilling to comply with instructions.
