A Study to Assess Outcomes Based on Different Surgical Approaches to Minimally-invasive Gallbladder Surgery

About this study

The purpose of this study is to compare the outcomes of patients who had standard laparoscopic port placement compared to non-standard port placement to determine any difference in occurrence of post-operative hernia and operative complications.

 

 

 

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age ≥ 18 years.
  • Underwent laparoscopic surgery (with emphasis on having underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy for benign gallbladder disease)

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Research authorization has been revoked by the patient.
  • Non-English speaking.
  • Pregnant women.
  • Prisoners.
  • Adults lacking capacity to consent.
