Prospective Adult Research Cohort with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (SPARC IBD)

About this study

The goal of this study is to create a cohort of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) who have linked clinical data, self-reported outcome data, and biosamples that can be used for clinical and translational research that will lead to medicine strategies and new therapeutic targets that will improve the quality of life of patients with IBD.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adult patients, age 18 years or older
  • Diagnosis of  IBD [CD, UC, or IBD unspecified (previously referred to as indeterminate colitis)], who are cared for at any of the participating sites

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Inability to provide informed consent
  • Patients presenting for a one time consultation
  • Students or employees who are directly supervised by one of the investigators
