About this study
The purpose of this study is to collect pilot data to determine levels of physical activity (PA) among HCT patients and caregivers, and to assess hypothetical interest in a dyad-based, technology-enhanced PA intervention for HCT patients and caregivers.
Participation eligibility
Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.
Inclusion Criteria for Patients:
- Recently admitted to the hospital for an autologous or allogeneic, bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplant;
- Within a 10-day window surrounding transplant, from 3 days prior to transplant to 7 days post-transplant;
- Age 18 or older;
- English speaking and comprehending;
- Has designated a primary informal caregiver.
Inclusion Criteria for Caregivers:
- Primary informal caregiver (spouse, partner, parent, adult child, or friend) for patient meeting inclusion criteria listed above;
- Age 18 or older;
- Minors (those under the age of 18) will be excluded because the study focuses on adult HCT patients and their adult caregivers;
- English speaking and comprehending.
