A Study to Assess Spinopelvic Parameters Based on Radiographic View and Patient Positioning

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate changes in pubic symphysis to sacrococcygeal junction distance (PSCD) between supine and standing anteroposterior (AP) pelvis radiographs and evaluate relationship between pelvic incidence (PI), pelvic tilt (PT), sacral slope (SS), lumbar lordosis (LL), and PSCD.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Age  ≥ 18 years old.
  • Ability to provide informed consent.
  • 40 subjects total:
    • Sex: 20 men, 20 women;
    • Hip pathology: 20 presenting for following total hip arthroplasty (THA), 20 without hip degenerative joint disease (DJD);
      • Age: 40 patients aged 18-100

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Individuals < 18 years old.
  • Patient with lumbosacral hardware, contralateral THA, or DJD in contralateral hip (only for 20 patients without hip DJD).
