A Pilot Study of a Novel Cardiac MRI Sequence for Myocardial Quantitative Perfusion

Overview

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinical feasibility of a new myocardial quantitative perfusion (MQP) sequence by assessing myocardial perfusion consistency (both resting and perfusion reserve), and to determine normal ranges for patients receiving contrast agent only for CMR (but not a vasodilator agent). Additionally, to collect subendocardial-subepicardial QP ratio in subjects who have no evident cardiovascular disease (CVD) on both clinical and radiological examinations, and agreement between qualitative assessment of myocardial perfusion and myocardial perfusion reserve in patients with suspected ischemic heart disease.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Subjects ≥ 18 years age who will undergo clinically indicated stress or non-stress cardiac MRI (CMR) imaging with contrast on a GE scanner in Rochester, MN.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Patients who would fall outside of the range for normal operating mode. Examples include patients with retained implantable electronic device leads, or those with a legacy device requiring active monitoring by a physicist (with limitation of the whole-body specific absorption rate ‘SAR’ exposure to less than 2W/kg), and patients with a cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED).

Note: Other protocol defined Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria may apply.

Eligibility last updated 7/28/22. Questions regarding updates should be directed to the study team contact.
