Advanced Registry Technology for MS and Neuroimmunological Disorders

About this study

The primary aim of this project is to utilize commercial-grade wearable devices to develop the SMART (Self-Monitoring and Advanced Registry Technology) platform to enhance the monitoring and management of multiple sclerosis (MS) and neuroimmunological disorders.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis by the revised 2017 McDonald Criteria, Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder by the IPND, MOGAD, autoimmune encephalitis, or Paraneoplastic neurological disorder
  • Follow at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, WI.
  • Have access to Apple Health application.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Unable to use wearable device
  • Co-morbidities that may confound ambulation or hand function[LB1] [ST2] 
    • Wheelchair confinement and/or inability to walk
    • Use of walker on a regular basis.
