Focus Areas
The Children's Research Center offers unique opportunities for truly transformative, high-impact research.
Our research focus areas bring together scientists and physicians from across Mayo Clinic to obtain new fundamental scientific knowledge and translate that knowledge into innovative clinical tools. With these tools, health care professionals are better able to provide early diagnosis, early interventions, new treatments and preventive health care for pediatric patients of all ages, from newborns to teenagers.
Our center conducts multiple collaborative pediatric and adolescent research projects, including research on:
- Cancer.
- Chronic complex conditions.
- Community-based programs and outcomes.
- Congenital heart conditions.
- Developmental conditions.
- Infection, immunity and autoimmunity.
- Gastroenterology.
- Health care delivery.
