A Study of Software Aided Angle Measurements to Improve Total Aortic Valve Replacement

About this study

The purpose of this study is to see if , with the help of a new software program to find the aortic valve angles, accurate placement of a new valve can be improved during a total aortic valve replacement procedure.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients undergoing total aortic valve replacement procedures using the Edwards Sapien valve

Exclusion Criteria

  • Enrollment in a transcatheter aortic valve implant study
  • Lack of research consent
  • Patient weight >200 kg.Maximum weight limit to ensure that image quality is sufficient to visualize the balloon markers in the cine images
  • Age < 18 yrs
