A Study of the Potential to Establish Cognitive Research Among the African-Americans Living in Peoria, Arizona

About this study

The purpose of this study is to objectively assess the potential for a long term program to reduce the risk of cognitive disorders among a specific African-American community.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Self-identified African-Americans (males and females)
  • Age ≥ 40 years will be eligible however we will oversample from participants who are ≥ 50 years
  • All must be willing to undergo a variety of cognitive and phyisical testing

 

Exclusion Criteria

  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
    • Valid use of the Breezing device is dependent on normal breathing
