A Study of the Need and Desire for a Seizure Detection Device by Epilepsy Patients and Care Providers

About this study

The purpose of this study is to survey epilepsy patients and their care providers for the level of need and desirability for a device that provides seizure detection and notification; and the level of accuracy that is expected of the device.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

Adult and pediatric epilepsy patients
- intractable focal or generalized types
Care providers of epilepsy patients
Seen in outpatient setting and/or admitted to the epilepsy monitoring unit

Exclusion Criteria

Non-epileptic seizures
Controlled seizures
