A Study of Heart Muscle Elasticity Measured by Echocardiography

About this study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possibility of using echocardiography to measure heart muscle elasticity in clinical practice.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Over age 20
  • Referred for clinical echocardiography
  • Either with normal echocardiography for controls
  • Or with known / newly diagnosed cardiovascular disease in the following categories
    • Hypertension
    • Ischemic heart disease
    • Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
    • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
    • Cardiac amyloidosis
    • Post cardiac transplant
    • Post chemotherapy
    • Pulmonary hypertension
