A Study of Structural and Functional Brain Characteristics in Patients with Headache Disorders Using Neuroimaging

About this study

The purpose of this study is to use structural and functional neuroimaging to compare what regional brain changes are similar or distinctly different between migraines and TAC ( trigeminal autonomic cephalagias).

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

Male or female
Ages 18-70
No contraindication to MRI or quantitative sensory testing (QST)
No history of head trauma or psychiatric disease
Healthy controls will have no history of current or past pain or headache disorders

Exclusion Criteria

History of head trauma, psychiatric disease or neurological disease (other than the headache disorder that they were diagnosed with)
