Imaging in Wrist Musculoskeletal MRI

About this study

The objectives of this proposal are to evaluate new MRI software and hardware methods to improve dynamic imaging of the wrist.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults male and non-pregnant female patients 18 to 100 years of age
  • Patients with suspected unilateral wrist instability (either scapholunate or DRUJ instability) who are scheduled for a clinically indicated MRI.
  • Patients who are MRI compatible and pass the clinical MRI screening procedures.
  • Patients who are able and willing to sign the informed consent will be enrolled.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • History of wrist surgery/fusion
  • Inability to follow instructions during the MRI scan
  • Patient who have a contraindication to MRI scanning
  • Patients who are claustrophobic
  • Patient who weigh more than 350 pounds or who body habitus precludes them from participation
