A Study for Predicting Asthma Stability After Decreasing Chronic Medications Using a Home Test Measuring Airway Inflammation

About this study

The purpose of this study is for patients who have decreased their chronic asthma medications to collect periodic home nasal swabs that measure levels of airway inflammation and may predict their asthma stability.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

  • A reduction in chronic asthma medication by at least 25% 
  • Have a home freezer where samples can be temporarily stored 
  • ≥ 7 years old

 

Exclusion Criteria

  • Diagnoses of 
    • COPD 
    • Sarcoidosis
    • Bronchiectasis
