About this study

The purpose of this study is to determine prevalence of sleep apnea in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and assess cardiovascular risk markers.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria

Adults age >18 years-old with a diagnosis of HCM
Both sexes
Able to consent
Non-pregnant

Exclusion Criteria

Heart failure (symptoms and NT-proBNP >upper limit of normal for age)
Prior alcohol septal ablation
Surgical myectomy
Prosthetic valves
Current smokers or recently quit (<6 months)
COPD (FEV1/FVC <0.70; FEV1 <80%)
Known autonomic dysfunction
Treated sleep apnea (mandibular device, CPAP)
Vulnerable study population
Prior catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation
