Magnetic Resonance Elastography of Traumatic Brain Injury

About this study

This purpose of this pilot study is to determine if there are changes in mild TBI detectible with MRE. This is the first time this novel technology has been applied to mild TBI and the anticipated results are theoretical.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients with a history of TBI or normal controls from 3 to 99 years of age will be recruited for the study

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Any contraindication to a MRI exam such as foreign bodies in the brain or eye or an incompatible device such as a cardiac pacemaker.
  • Pregnant women are excluded from the study.
  • Patients requiring sedation to complete the MRI will also be excluded from the study
