Measurement of Passive Hip Extension in Two Positions of the Modified Thomas Test at the Side of the Bed

About this study

The purpose of this study is to:

1. Determine the pelvic tilt and passive hip extension differences of two different opposite leg positions of the Modified Thomas Test at the side of the bed.

2. Provide guidance to clinicians on the influences of the two different positions on pelvic inclination and passive hip extension to guide stretching positioning decisions.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Must be between the ages of 18-65 years old
  • Must be able to lie in the supine position

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Must have no history of prior hip surgery
  • Must have no history of hip pain in the past month
  • Must not be under the age of 18 or over the age of 65
  • Must not have performed extraneous physical exercise in the past 24 hours
