Computer Vision-based Assessment of Upper Extremity Motor Function in Stroke Patients

About this study

The purpose of this study is to develop a computer vision based software program to better understand upper extremity movements after stroke.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Impairments in upper extremity function due to effects of stroke.
    • NIH stroke scale motor arms score less than or equal to 2 (this evaluation is performed for each patient as part of the standard evaluation process)

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • History of seizures 
  • History of musculoskeletal impairment affecting upper extremity strength or range of motion 
  • History of CNS malignancy
