Can the Presence of Other Otologic Signs/symptoms Predict Hearing Aid Uptake in Adults with Hearing Loss as Compared to with the Magnitude of Hearing Loss Alone?

About this study

The goal of this study is to identify new knowledge that will be used as the basis for a larger scale future study. This study will compare two groups of subjects with HL: those who have otologic signs/symptoms and those who do not.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adult patients seen for audiologic evaluations at Mayo Clinic in Florida who were deemed hearing aid candidates by the evaluating audiologist.

  • None
