About this study

The aims of this study are:

  1. Assess preoperative nutrition status, thyroid function and pathogen colonization
  2. Correlate these assessments with clinical outcomes
  3. Improve patients satisfaction

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Patients scheduled for any vascular, general, plastic, cardiothoracic and colorectal surgical intervention
  • Age 18-90

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Patients with end stage liver disease
  • Patients with end stage kidney disease
  • Patients with life expectancy less than 5 years
  • Pregnant women
