About this study

Zero echo time (ZTE) is seen as a viable radiation-free alternative to a CT scan. This study will investigate this opportunity by developing clinical workflows, comparing ZTE and CT images, and determining costs.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  1. Need for cortical bone assessment and desire for radiation-free imaging
  2. Pediatric patients
  3. The presence of
    • Craniofacial pathology that necessitates CT imaging and
    • Interest in ZTE scans for screening and/or follow-up

Exclusion Criteria:

  1. Lack of consent/assent
  2. Contraindications or inability to undergo one or both examinations within the designated time period
  3. Unsatisfactory image quality
