About this study

The purpose of this study is to analyze human iris mechanical properties that change with age.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Volunteers and patients (with a 2:1 female-to-male ratio).
  • Complete ophthalmology exam at Mayo Clinic Ophthalmology Unit with dark toom gonioscopy and anterior segment imaging for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the ocular angles.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Any patient with history of trauma, ocular inflammation, intraocular surgery.
  • Any patient on medications know to affect pupil size.
