Study to Examine the Patient Experience of Living with Undercared for Chronic Suffering

About this study

The purpose of this study is to better understand the patient experience of living with undercared-for chronic suffering and the clinician experience of caring for these patients.

 

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • English-speaking adults (18 years of age or older).
  • Adults receiving care in Mayo Clinic’s primary care practices (and specialty clinics if we determine their presence is warranted) for ongoing health issues that are difficult to measure/image and/or treat.
  • Adults able to provide consent will be included in this study.

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Minor patients (under 18 years of age).
  • Patients needing an English interpreter.
  • Patients lacking the capacity to consent will not be included in this study.
