A Study to Evaluate Electrical Impedance Myography as an Outcome Measure in Myositis

About this study

The purpose of this study is to assess Electrical Impedance Myography (EIM) as an outcome measure in patients with Idiiopathic Inflammatory Myopathies (IIM) or Myositis.

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Adults, age 18 years and older.
  • Healthy Adults, or Adults with a diagnosis of definite or probable idiopathic inflammatory myopathy based upon criteria proposed by Lundberg et al.                           

Exclusion Criteria: 

  • Known pregnancy.
  • Dialysis.
  • Presence of a neurologic disorder in addition to IIM that may significantly affect muscle strength.
