About this study

This study is being done to study what regulates breast tissue growth, to better understand if there is a possible relationship between benign changes and breast cancer. Laboratory studies will search for changes in genetic material (DNA

Participation eligibility

Participant eligibility includes age, gender, type and stage of disease, and previous treatments or health concerns. Guidelines differ from study to study, and identify who can or cannot participate. There is no guarantee that every individual who qualifies and wants to participate in a trial will be enrolled. Contact the study team to discuss study eligibility and potential participation.

Eligibility: 

Inclusion Criteria:

Excess benign breast tissue, when available, will be collected from 150 women between the ages of 18 and 80, undergoing prophylactic mastectomy or reduction mammoplasty. 

Exclusion Criteria

Males will be excluded from study participation as the researchers are interested in the breast involution process of the female breast.
